The first episode of game removal is here! I decided to start with Castlevania for NES because I’m in love with that series and I kinda just felt like playing it. Years and years ago, an old friend lent me a suitcase full on PlayStation 1 games in it. I grew up with Nintendo 64 so I missed out on a lot of the PlayStation hits. Anyways, inside that suitcase was Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Castlevania had been on my radar forever and I finally had the chance to check one out. I fell in love with that game; discovering new secrets, trying each and every weapon, beating the game incorrectly, feeling a little underwhelmed, and then finding out I was only half way finished. Also, the jump trails. I am absolutely in love with the jump trails in that game.
I was obsessed and started searching for any and all Castlevania games I could find. NES games were soooo cheap back then I scooped up all three. I picked up Chronicles for PS1, IV for SNES, and Bloodlines for Genesis. While the earlier titles were completely different in game play to the Metroidvanias, the music, themes, and fun was all there. I wanted to start this project with a series that means a lot to me and Castlevania is that series. It all started with this one!
If you’re a super fan of Castlevania and missing the first one or you’ve never played one and wanna check it out, I’m giving away my copy. Take the password from the video below, enter it into the form on this site, and you’ll be entered in a random drawing to get the game! I wish you luck! Now off to work on video 2!
